I’ve been playing piano for seven years, and I have to say, I’m pretty darn good. Will it be easier to play guitar now than If I had started playing guitar with no musical experience whatsoever? I also heard that people that play piano can’t play the guitar well.

I saved up and bought myself a keyboard, but my parents won’t sign me up for piano lessons. Is there any way to learn how to play online or through some other method? Any ideas appreciated!

I am planning on playing the piano and singing at my eigth grade promotion. I want the song to be about "I had fun, wish me luck!" sort of thing. Obviously I’m in eigth grade and promotion is pretty far away but I want time to learn and perfect it. It doesn’t matter about the difficulty of the piece. I have been playing piano for about ten years so I can play it. The genre doesn’t matter but it has to be school appropriate (for obvious reasons) and singable (again, for obvious reasons). Thank you very much!

I have been playing piano for a little over a year now, and play really well by ear, but when it comes to playing from sheet music, I can’t keep my eyes just on the music. I have to constantly look down to find where my fingers are and then I lose my place. Is there a trick to being able to jump around over the keys and not getting lost? Or is it just a lot of practice?

I’m planning to buy a keyboard this week. I’ve always wanted to learn piano since I was a kid but I had no chance. I’m hoping that its still not too late for me to learn. I have no plans of hiring a teacher, I want to try learning on my own.

I can play by ear by listening to piano music, but it’s difficult for me to play by ear if the song doesn’t have a piano in it. Like I can play Apologize by One Republic by ear because it has piano in it.
How can I play by ear listening to a song that doesn’t involve piano? For example a Britney Spears song? Can I find a teacher to help me play songs by ear or do I have to teach myself with practice? Would it be easier if I learned chords? Thank you.

I am always interested in piano, but now I can only watch my friend playing with amazed. I feel that my fingers are stiff now because of my age. What I know from my friends who learn piano is they started to learn since they are kids. There is one grand piano in a hall in my university that is used for certain event but during freetime students can come to play the piano. This grand piano which according to one of my friends that can play piano is good piano. So I think I can also use the piano, but what should I learn at first to learn autodidact?
