How can I learn piano chords?

I’m an adult taking piano lessons and I am trying to learn the chords. Does anyone have advice on how to learn them? Are there any mnemonic devices? Any helpful exercises?
Anything that’s online (and free)?
Thank you!

And good luck!
Hi Breigber,
I have a free lesson online titled "Coral Reef" that shows you how to create your own music using just 2 open position chords. Adults really seem to like doing this.

most chords follow the scale of the chord name then keep following in patterns and changing EXAMPLE:
c major is the 1st(root) 3rd and 5th of the c SCALE
so that is C, E and G
