Violin is a more precise instrument than a piano. Fingering a fretless instrument does not leave much room for error. Piano is laid out in a straight line and can be easier to comprehend for someone that has never played an instrument before. I’ve played guitar for nearly 20 years and tried to play violin a few times when they happened to be around. I really stank!!! I understand the theory, its the technique of fingering and using the bow that gave me grief. Besides, how many times have you seen women swoon to a violinist??? While the piano player can draw a crowd and possibly sing too. Haven’t seen to many singing violinist besides Charlie Daniels(old country and western artist). If you’ve never played an instrument before, go with the piano! If your really interested in playing music in an orchastra eventually, go with the violin. You’d have a much better chance of advancement within the ranks. Plus, the strings section has several violin spots while the piano is usually a solo or duet format.
Piano is easy and basic to all other instruments
learn to read music playing the piano and everything else falls into place.
good luck !!
Learn to play piano. It’s the most basic…. but violin is obviously more cheaper if you don’t have a piano or a violin.
In my opinion, violin is harder to play because of all the strings, and you get them all mixed up, and when you mean to play one string, and you play another one, your music turns in to a disaster. And it’s hard to play especially if you have fat fingers.
Piano, on the other hand is hard too, but in my opinion, not as hard as violin. (I play them both!) You need to be able to learn to sight read if you really want to be good at playing piano. And if your playing a hard piece, you have to sometimes stretch your fingers WAY apart.
In other words, I think piano is easier to play, but it all depends on you. Try going for trumpet! Lol! (But seriously, trumpet is a nice instrument, and it’s cool!)
**NOTE** Piano is a basic instrument, and that’s the first instrument you should learn to play if you want to play other instruments. It’s like the ABCs. If you don’t learn the ABCs, you can’t read very well. (Okay, you can’t read AT ALL) If you don’t learn piano, you can’t play other instruments as easily. That’s what I think.
The piano is easy. If you have a good teacher, you will learn the basics and then you will learn to play easy songs like "Mary had a little lamb". Then as you become more advanced you will learn songs like "The entertainer".
The violin looks WAY MORE difficult. Learning how to position it, then how to play each note correctly… IT TAKE EFFORT (I’m lazy beause I plaed the keyboard as a kid =D) But the piano probably best unless you are up for a challenge.
piano is much easier..
